Advisement

Academic advising is a cooperative process between students, faculty, and student services staff. Each curriculum student is assigned a faculty advisor who will assist that student in planning programs and selecting courses. Curriculum students who are not enrolled in specific programs (Special Studies students) are assigned to the Academic Advising Center as their advisor. Students must make appointments with their advisors prior to registration for the next semester.

All students should refer to the college catalog for information about the courses required for graduation in the various areas of study. Students will then work with their advisor to develop a personalized academic plan (MAP - My Academic Plan), as part of the college's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). By consulting with advisors when questions arise, students will develop a more accurate and efficient academic plan. Advisors and counselors are available to students, but final responsibility for meeting program and graduation requirements remains with the student.
